VA has become non existent. we are lucky to have 1 or 2 folks on at a time. We used to have all the planned events and such before the server move and since we have nothing. The server move has turned into a critical wound to VA. We need to stop the bleeding and repair it before its too late.

I know i cant be the only one who feels this way.

I guess the first thing to do is recruit some new blood into the guild.

Ok my rant is over, feel free to make suggestions

I just joined yesterday and I know the pain of what Malutolf is talking of. Worse is when it gets to a point that no one even posts about it or talks about it. So at least VA has not gone that far. I actually killed off my guild yesterday and came over here after a long talk with Heraclios.

Since I'm the new kid on the block here, I know I need to get to know you all in the process of seeing what we can do to liven things up. Our new guild Pheonix Crown, which my guild was part of, has some decent activity going and we have managed to get a group of 12 going in RvR and a couple of six mans for dungeons in the week we've been together or so. All the guilds are from PT and want to supply a combo of RP and RvR. Many of the guilds are also part of the Tuatha and I know many of that crew since I run with them a lot as well.

I'm hoping between this alliance and the Tuatha we have plenty of activity again and something to help attract new people and keep them. I'm game to try even if the whole move from PT really did slam my guild badly and I came here with at least one of my members (he already had an alt here too). I only have three members I'm not sure of that have actually logged on since the beginning of the year.

So here's to a fresh start and see what happens.

It was good to see five different people on last night, though in the rampage of T4 I did not get to fully acquaint myself with you all, but at least got to say hi and talk a little here and there.

Also, there were about 12 from the alliance who participated in the T4 raid that Gaiscioch was running last night, possibly more, but not sure all that were on joined in - saw most of them though.

And Heraclios offered me co-leadership when he knew I was disbanding my old guild. I was down to three people that were regular and only two of us made it on this past week. One of them already had a char over here and the other who was my remaining officer was sure this would happen soon anyway. In some ways it was sad doing it, but I wanted to stay in the alliance family and liked Heraclios's offer. Still ironing out how this will all work out, but I'm hoping I can help all I can with this guild even if I think some of what I get to do is be the executive admin. <grins>

On that note, for events of things to occur, I'll remain as the alliance liason who is always posting the raids run by Gaiscioch as an option of things we can do. I know a few others also post other events and are working on getting alliance group events for dungeons going as well for the wonderful acquisition of gear and good times.

Unless we all feel like being crazy as a geurrilla force in T4 on Monday's, we also head to the Redhammer in Ekron for a time of comraderie and crazy RP mayhem. This is even advertised in turn by Gaiscioch so that all RPers may know there is at least a night we try to get together for such to-do. I myself like some RP, but tend to do so on the light side because my primary reason for even playing this game is to have fun and I'll run rampant in RvR just as easily have a rip roaring debate between elf and dwarf.

Please do keep us posted guys. I haven't logged in for some time, but I do keep an eye on things here. I am looking for an excuse to come in and do some dungeon runs at various levels to help get me re-aquainted with my hunter as well as looking for something to do with my WH.

Don't worry. I'll make sure things are on this calendar in game and on this site for Warhammer to-do's. I plan on working on that this weekend and if any other guilds in the alliance post things that are shared I'll try to make sure the website calendar stays up to date with it.

Of course, I suggest you just come back and see what kind of impromptu insanity you wind up in for a grand time. =D

BTW, I have six chars in the guild range 12 to 40 and I have two T1's hanging out. This is so I can have fun in multiple ways and make it into all levels of events that come up - especially Gaiscioch raids that run T2 and up.

I also worry for our fate sometimes, and really haven't a clue on how to boost membership since I don't think the new player base is increasing.... unsure on this though.

Has there been any improvements in the new player base that I am unaware of? Seems to me, everyone is pretty much set in stone with what guilds they are going to stick with, so the only option of recruits is getting stragglers from other guilds.

My two cents
A man who repents of his crimes can be saved, but a traitor is forever damned.

At the moment, I really haven't tried any recruiting and to be honest I don't see many non-guilded people once people get out of T-1. I can try throwing out something in T-2 when I am on as Mardan, but I don't think we'll get much in T-3 or T-4. Most people that get to that rank usually are guilded unless they absolutely don't want to be. Most of the guilds in the alliance are in the same boat as well.

The other issue with trying anything in T-1, even if there are lot of new people, there are a lot of people on trial accounts.

I really don't have a clue how to get new blood, but at least we do have some life in here and in the evening when I play I usually see Malutolf and Dazrieth on their mains or alts. I've managed to meet up with Hanzel, too. So for the times of 8pm est to midnight I've seen four of us and we actually had 3 of us all on at once last night in T4.

Our alliance finally managed to have enough people on that could have made a warband except some already had ToVL scheduled as soon as LotD opened last night, but we had an alliance warband that consisted of at least 12 for a good portion of its life. Of course, it would have been better if we hadn't wound up in an IC with NO ONE to fight or had so many issues just getting there.

I'm training to be a raid leader with Gaiscioch and have it set so my main for T2, T3 and T4 can claim keeps as needed on raids (don't worry I can throw the money at this from the stuff I have from OV and did put 500g in for this purpose already). That will at least help get the guild name out there more often at various levels.

Anyway, any other ideas of how to get people looking at us is welcome. I'm going to do my best to help with this, but we shall see how it goes. At least, this guild does not appear to be as dead as OV finally got. The last week it was Dazrieth and myself when he wasn't playing an alt already over here in this guild. (and I still can't remember what that char's name is LOL. I'm so bad with names.)

I think that at this point in the game's life cycle, the best option for recruiting is to do what we have always done, and that is continuing to lead pugs and raids. Advertising as LFM before goi g on PvE raids will yield us the occaisional person, and having our name out there as active will draw those that are in the more "dead end" type guilds. Hera has been great at this as we have had many join in the past due to his leadership in RvR pugs. Just do what you are doing guys, and keep doing it well and others will follow. From my own experience, I was thinking about joining Gasioch back before I joined VA just because they seemed to have a lot of things going on that I wanted to paticipate in. If we continue to do the same, we will yield the same results.
