Hello Membership:
Three months ago, Allore, myself and a couple of other remaining players of Warhammer Online attemped to recruit the guild back to a playable standard. For a month or so, before the holiday season, this worked well and we had good numbers online at least at prime time and some good groups were formed.
Unfortunately, those recruitments have either left WAR or are playing on a different server as a result of 1.40 basically gutting some of the larger guilds on Order leading to basically night after night of unstoppable destro zerg-age. Lately, the number seem to have equalized more, but Order is very disorganized and rife with private warbands in the lakes.
In addition, the Badlands boards are filled with individuals commenting that once Rift goes live, many more will leave. Also, there have been comments on the need for Order guilds to consolidate to be more organized.
My feeling is that no one left active in VA has the energy to recruit continiously and keep things afloat. Generally, I think we currently have five active or semi-active players. As such, depending on what happens over the next 30 or so days, it is likely that I and Allore will move our main characters to a more active Guild. We haven't thought about which one as I hold hope that some of our members will return to the game. I will not disband the guild, but I will let the Alliance know so they may decide if we stay in the Alliance or drop from it.
I am pretty much only playing Sylvais and do not plan on that changing. Allore is pretty much only playing Anthesis, which is also unlikely to change. Thus, if we move our mains, we will not be around VA beyond this website, should Auggie continue it. In that case, if someone wishes active leadership of the guild, please let me know and it will be transferred to you.
It has been a good ride, we got over 50% of the way through 35, but the odds of hitting 40 are slim to none with our current status.
Perhaps we will band together again in another game world, perhaps War will have a renaissance (about as much chance of that as Sylvais thinking that Dark Elves are, indeed, actually Elves), perhaps not. Alll the best to everyone.

Honestly, I think our "guild" and website needs to be turned into a friends community guild site since Warhammer isn't our centralized stomping grounds; additionally we are lacking a centralized game for everyone to hop in and play. There really just isn't anything out there that is holding everyone's attention. Sad.
Games are released all the time that aren't ready, tons of bugs, griever communities etc..its like the fate of MMOs have went down the tubes except for Warcraft. Which I have to give Blizzard props for really listening to the player base and adding in all the additions and enhancements from all types of games into Warcraft. In saying that, I've no intention of playing there... never been fond of the cartoony characters and lifestyle. I demo'd DC Universe a few weeks back....it had potential, but still failed to really capture what is needed to be the new Velox foundation game. Furthermore, and simply put, DC Universe wasn't ready for release... not a shocker there though. Sony just loves to charge consumers for a game that isn't complete and take their money until they get caught up on their work. They really aren't that much different from other gaming companies these days.. seems everyone has started following in Sony's footsteps. A huge let down. However, back to the main topic of Sylvais post: Not that you need it from me or anyone else, but you have the full support of everyone to find a guild in Warhammer that suits your needs. That doesn't mean you are leaving Velox... which is why I think we need to turn our site into a "friend community guild" look and feel until we can find a game that we all play. It seems like an impossible feat doesn't it -- considering the poor quality of what is coming out on the market. Have faith though.. if we can just get a release date on Diablo III -- i KNOW 99% of Velox crew and even 99% of inactive members will be in line to get that game. I'm fairly certain that is the most hopeful prospect for us to have a new gaming home. Now, if we can just get it to be released and ready!

I agree 100% with Auggie, we should redo our guild website to make it like a gaming community website.
I have played DCUO, I loved it... but not enough to pay a monthly subscription. So, DCUO is out of my games list. I am in Rift Beta and so far, the game has lots of potential and a fun factor. I'm loving it more and more and Trion does really listen to the fanbase. I pre-ordered already but I'm not playing too much in beta because I want to stay surprised and do not want to redo my toons. For your information, I'm also waiting on SW:TOR, GW2 and surprise ! Diablo III. 2011 seems a better year for MMOs and games than 2010. |

I have also pre-ordered Rift and hope it will entertain me for at least as long as WoW did.
Been messing around on Faeblight (all the usual names - Sylvais, Alleighia) Like Jilaena, I am not going too far in Beta because I want the content to be a surprise too. Also, I do not want to go nuts over a specific build to have the coders change it (it is Beta after all) and wreck my fun. What I have noticed is, currently anyhow, the starter storyline is slightly different for each of the races. Thus far, I have tried out: Cleric - Druid - Warden (High Elf) Rogue - Riftstalker (Kelari) Mage - Pyromancer - Archon - Chloromaster (Eth) Pretty decent gameplay - a kind of WAR meets WoW career structure - from what I see. If it can hold on to open world RvR/PvP and the War Fronts (aka Scenarios) are fun, the game has potential. If not, it will, as Auggie put it, fail like most other post WoW MMOs.
